Monetizing Edge Service in Mobile Internet Ecosystem

نویسندگان

چکیده

In mobile Internet ecosystem, users (MUs) purchase wireless data services from service provider (ISP) to access and acquire the interested content (e.g., online game) Content Provider (CP). The popularity of intelligent functions AI 3D modeling) increases computation-intensity services, leading a growing computation pressure for MUs’ resource-limited devices. To this end, edge computing service is emerging as promising approach alleviate while keeping their quality-of-service, via offloading some tasks MUs edge (computing) servers deployed at local network edge. Thus, (ESP), who deploys offers service, becomes an upcoming new stakeholder in ecosystem. work, we study economic interactions MUs, ISP, CP, ESP ecosystem with where can computation-intensive (offered by CP) offload tasks, together necessary raw input data, (deployed ESP) through ISP. We first MU's Joint Acquisition Task Offloading (J-CATO) problem, which aims maximize his long-term payoff. derive off-line solution crucial insights, based on design online strategy provable performance. Then, ESP's monetization problem. propose pricing policy that achieve constant fraction ex post optimal revenue extra loss ESP. Numerical results show stimulate acquisition improve payoffs CP.

Mobile Edge Computing Empowers Internet of Things

In this paper, we propose a Mobile Edge Internet of Things (MEIoT) architecture by leveraging the fiber-wireless access technology, the cloudlet concept, and the software defined networking framework. The MEIoT architecture brings computing and storage resources close to Internet of Things (IoT) devices in order to speed up IoT data sharing and analytics. Specifically, the IoT devices (belongin...

Reference Architecture for Mobile Internet Service Platform

The i-mode services platform is a unique business model that benefits service providers, the network operator, device manufacturers, and the customers. The current NTT DoCoMo solution is deployed to the PDC network, available only in Japan. Presently, several arguments have been put forward as to the success of i-mode in Japan, however such erudition has done little for other mobile operators f...

Scalable Group Membership Service for Mobile Internet

Group communication system (GCS) is a useful mechanism for constructing reliable, fault-tolerant distributed application. When GCS is extended in mobile environment, the membership change occurs frequently due to the mobility of mobile nodes and unreliable wireless communication within a cell. In this paper, we propose a scalable group communication scheme to support mobile systems in an Intern...

BioWAP, mobile Internet service for bioinformatics

UNLABELLED We have developed a new Internet service, which provides mobile access to bioinformatics databases and software tools. The BioWAP service facilitates access to basic bioinformatics databases and analysis tools from everywhere without a PC or a laptop computer. Both open source bioinformatics program suites and Internet services, which are not designed for mobile Internet access, were...

Internet Service Delivery Control with Mobile Code

The trend towards value-added Internet services causes network providers to deploy new network based quality-of-service and security services. Today, however, the customer has only limited means of controlling the service delivery. For example the network security guaranteed by virtual private network providers cannot be checked with a traditional static approach. This paper presents a novel ap...
